Judge finds Dell Inc. in contempt
NEW ORLEANS — A state court judge has found Dell Inc. in contempt of court for what the plaintiffs have alleged to be piecemeal production of documents in a civil lawsuit over the New Orleans crime camera system.
Orleans Parish Civil Court Judge Rosemary Ledet on Thursday also order the Texas-based computer company to pay the plaintiffs $25,000 in monetary sanctions.
The order comes in an increasingly contentious suit brought by two companies that allege the surveillance system they developed was misappropriated by people within and with ties to the city’s technology department. They also allege a conspiracy with Dell to sell the system.
Dell has disputed the allegations.
