HYDERABAD - The scam-hit Satyam Computer Services Thursday appointed a company veteran, A.S. Murty, as its chief executive, while naming two other outside experts as advisors to the reconstituted board.

The company said former managing director of Tata Chemicals Homi Khusrokhan and the former chief financial officer of the Chennai-based Murugappa Group Partho Datta will advise the board on charting the future course for the beleaguered IT Bellwether.

The announcements were made after an extended meeting of the new board at the company’s headquarters here where the selection of the chief executive and other top positions topped the agenda.
