SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- The popularity of the social networking sites is growing day by day and several millions of people use them worldwide every day. Therefore when one such service goes down it affects millions of users worldwide. Twitter the popular micro blogging site got hacked yesterday and it created huge sensation among the users in various places as one can expect. A Turkish hacker accidentally managed to find out a security breach and he exploited that making several Twitter users wonder why their followers suddenly disappeared from their accounts. They were certainly angry and disheartened when all their twitter followers vanished unexpectedly. It took some time for them to fathom the truth.

The celebrities and actors like Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian and Ashton Kutcher were also among the victims of the hacker. They all started wondering if their Twitter fans had deserted them and Justin Bieber also wrote a post mocking the reality. Kim Kardashian was also taken aback by this development. Demi Moore was another of the victims of the hacker. The Twitter team took note of the situation and entered into repair. After some time they were able to fix the glitch. The Twitter hacking incident by that tie spread in the web like a wildfire.

The Twitter hacking incident also exposed why the social networking sites need to strengthen their security level. Incidentally the spouse of UK PM Gordon Brown and US president Barack Obama also use Twitter frequently. Luckily their Twitter accounts were not hacked. The gadget and technology sites also posted alert on the incident yesterday.

Thanks for the update.Though i have a Twitter account but wasn’t aware of of such a thing.With the popularity of the social networking sites growing by the day,security concerns have increased ever than before.We get to hear about a lot of cyber crimes that are taking place on these social networking sites.Relieved to hear the issue has been resolved and Twitter has been restored to normalcy.
