Twitter unveiled new design strategy on Wednesday. The company said that the new look will provide an “easier, faster and richer experience” by streaming searches, lists them on the left of the screen and group together other features such as favorites, recently-followed feeds and interesting topics on the other side. The new Twitter look will also help the users to view photos, videos and other media content in an easier way.
The new design will further lure the advertisers to spend money on reaching the fast-growing number of Twitter users. The new changes will be available as a preview to the users over the forthcoming weeks and they will be able to change between new and old look. The company further announced new advertising program. The program will let the advertisers to pay Twitter to feature in a section that is automatically customized for each user and which suggests accounts for them to follow.
We’re definitely beyond the experimentation stage,” said Dick Costolo, Twitter’s chief operating officer at the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s Mixx conference in New York. “We feel like we’ve cracked the code on a new kind of advertising - advertising that starts out as organic content.”
According to The New York Times, now Twitter has 160 million users and the site is growing at the rate of 370,000 a day.
