PANAJI - Goa will launch ‘Cyber Treasury’, a state-wide area network that enables entrepreneurs to pay commercial taxes, including value-added tax (VAT), online, state Finance Secretary Udipta Ray said here Wednesday.

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat will inaugurate the project at a national conference on e-governance to be held in Goa Feb 12-13, she told reporters.

‘The project will cover VAT in the first phase, while other taxes, including state and central excise tax will be covered later,’ Ray said.

A bouquet of 32 vital services would be governed by the project by December this year. ‘It has been hosted on the National Informatics Centre’s server,’ she added.
