Hipmunk: New Way Of Searching

Adam Goldstein along with Reddit co-founder Steve Huffman created this new travel website. Hipmunk is also a Y combinator as Reddit. The graduate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of MIT, Goldstein said,

We’re going to sort the results sensibly, filter out the flights that you’d be crazy to take, and present things in such a way that it’s clear what the tradeoffs are.

The 22 year old has admitted that he had been planning this for one year. He was a travel planner for MIT debate team then and admitted that it has been a real pain full task to select a specific flight from loads of webpages.

I spent hours looking through Kayak and Orbitz and Expedia trying to find the right flight. It doesn’t have to be that way, but their interfaces really aren’t made for anything else. It’s just a huge database dump.

says Goldstein.

According to the programming geek, other companies have focused on the search and that’s where they have made a big mistake. Searching in that manner will be obsolete sooner. People have no time for spending hours behind a flight ticket. Also from his own experience Goldstein had experienced that the conventional searching end up with rather embarrassment. So he invented Hipmunk, a new way of searching. Hipmunk will come with some extra features in future, Goldstein admitted. Now his main focus is to face the challenges that Hipmunk is facing as a newcomer.
