Windows 7 Trick: How to Open Command Prompt in Your Current Directory by a Single KeyStroke

XP has some popular power toys that makes it ace. More often than not you must have used the Open Command Prompt Here in XP. Next used the graphical shell to access the file systems. Then the context menu to open the command prompt at current working directory. Windows 7 ( Vista also) offers a simple trick to make things easier. Let’s see  

Its fairly simple. Just press the shift key and select the context menu. You get the command prompt in your current directory. Even if your working directory is a network location, it automatically maps a drive letter. Once you are done you can readily access the file systems.

1. left click on the file first so it is highlighted

2. Then shift + right click

3. The click on open “command window here” or “command prompt window.

and thats it!

I’m not sure, maybe I’m not seeing everything cuz I use Chrome, but, I fail to see where it says ctrl->shift->right-click as the correct key combination to get the advanced context menu.

Maybe just a typo, huh?

Works for me.
Just click SHIFT + RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON over a folder.

Bullshit. Nothing happens if you press the shift key. I suppse youmean to press the shift key while doing something else. What is the something else?
