LayeredTech, Dedicated Web Hosting Provider, Suddenly Increases Price by 26%; Twice in 12 Months

I am a long time LayeredTech dedicated server customer. Today out of the blue LayeredTech increased the price by 26%! None of the “service improvements” directly benefits average customers like us:
- Implementation of a new enterprise-wide management system to integrate all client touch points and improve response times.
- Roll out of new virtualization services to enable a whole range of redundancy, scalability and management features for new and existing clients.
- Installation of additional network capacity between data centers for improved redundancy and throughput.
- Construction of a new state of the art Network Operations Center to speed service recovery times and detect and prevent issues before they occur.
None of the above improves our service in anyway. LayeredTech is an unmanaged dedicated web hosting provider. You don’t really get much support from them anyway. Only time I needed support (other than the reboots) is when my server was being inaccessible from several locations worldwide due to a problem in one of their routers. They took about a month and half, couldn’t solve the problem despite me pinpointing the exact servers causing the problems. Anyway they finally moved me to a different IP range.
I am not too happy about this sudden price increase. This is the second time they raised the price on our plan. I am accustomed to dedicated hosting provider sticking to their pricing plan for long term customers.
Frankly I am open to good offers from dedicated web hosting providers. I need 2GB RAM and a decent CPU, 160GB HD or more, 10000GB or more data transfer per month, that’s it. Any ideas?
