Spherix 2Q loss widens on higher costs
BETHESDA, Md. — Spherix Inc., a provider of biotech and information technology services, said Monday its second-quarter loss widened on higher operating expenses.
The company lost $1.6 million, or 11 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1.2 million, or 8 cents per share, during the same period a year prior. Revenue rose to $332,241 from $263,151.
Operating expenses rose to $1.9 million from $1.6 million.
Shares of Spherix rose 5 cents to $1.85 in afternoon trading. Shares have traded between 20 cents and $2.67 per share over the last 52 weeks.
