T-Mobile Waives Haiti Call Charges

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- Ever since the new of the devastating earthquake in Haiti has spread to the various parts of world, a lot of NGOs and entities have started doing their bit for the unfortunate victims of the calamity struck area. Just a day back UPS declared about a huge donation. Now, T-Mobile USA, Inc. has said that it will allow existing T-Mobile customers to make calls to Haiti and for that they will not be charged anything. T-Mobile waives Haiti call charges and it is a commendable effort on the part of the cellular company. It will be offered by the company till the end of January. The T-Mobile customers will not be charged for roaming if they are in Haiti during this period.

Robert Dottson, the CEO and president of T-Mobile USA has said that T-Mobile waives Haiti call charges to show solidarity and support to the victims of the region. The company thinks with this offer communicating with the people of Haiti would be easier for its users. Apart from offering the facility of free calling to Haiti, T-mobile is also joining hands with Voila and Digicel, its partner networks to develop the wireless communications infrastructure. The network has collapsed post the quake in Haiti. It also has plans to donate wireless equipments in the region.

It is indeed good news that T-Mobile waives Haiti call charges for people who have relatives and friends in Haiti. The users of the network can also donate to Red Cross using their mobiles.
