Finally iPhone is open to third party application. Most of you iPhone-buffs are in no mood to compromise with downloads. So are you a natural gamer who doesn’t even spare his iPhone? You known iPhone is not facilitated with any preloaded games. But it supports the top intriguing games. I’ll review the top 10 for you that caught my interest.
Let’s pick the Apple store games first and then I’ll get down to others
1. Cro-Mag Rally
This is no Need for Speed but barbarian 3D race for the caveman Borg. I gotta ride the some sort of primitive jalopy like the Geode Cruiser, Logmobile, Trojan Horse, Bone Buggy and others. But the more exciting ones were the Primitive weaponry. I had 9 different race tracks to race on. I bet steering through those stones is worth ones salt. Your iPhone itself acts the steering wheel. This one comes for $9.99
2. Moto Race
This one’s for tough roadies. Nothing near to the Dirt bike championship, But it’s worth a track to explore. Starting from Miami Beach and terminating at Andean mountain. With jerk hitch ups, I could make it easy through the checkpoints and weaving through the traffic. It took me some blood and guts to fend off the biker gang with some nerve-chilling bounces along the road. It’s worth the $9.99.
3. Bomberman Touch
This I choose for relic hunters. Here’s your chance to be Dr. Jones (from Indiana Jones) and explore the hidden treasure troves. I struggled through the densest jungles to reach the dissentive ruins of Kaboom Temple. Nothing new but the I got across the stories unsuccessful adventures. Not exciting really. I made the daredevil Bomberman work to my brains and guts, ultimately exposing the Kaboom treasure. This one was priced at $7.99
4. Enigmo
This 3D puzzle got my head spinning. What an immaculate animated stream of flowing liquid. It was tough diverting the tail of streaming water, lava or oil. I spilled the liquid a number of times rushing for the bonus points. It required rotating and moving various types of bumpers, sliders, accelerators and sponges. Before you play let me tell you this piece of game cost me $9.99.
5. Ms. PAC-MAN
Gobbling dots were never seem so fascinating if I didn’t have to chase down the bouncing fruit. Not so easy either when you have ghosts chasing you life. Either you munch them when they are blue or they’ll have you in dinner. Moving swiftly through the maze, I had to make the right turns to fool the ghosts chasing me from four directions. I was glad to get the fruit everytime.
This game is worth $9.99.
6. Billy Frontier
It’s chosen for those in love with spaghetti westerns. I’m all set for the quick draw game with my big gun. Put on the cowboy hat and slip on your leather chaps. Buck up! I have found them in space the beastly aliens of wild west galaxy. I had to escape those rampaging bulls which reminds me of Mark Parisi’s bull cartoons. Then I new it was a battle with universes’ finest gunslingers. Believe me I was good enough to wipe them all. Billy Frontier is prices at $3.99.
7. iKick
This one is pretty simple but once you caught the habit of winning you get addicted. For me too. It’s all about tapping the ball to keep it in air. I was never near the 300 but by jove I’ll make it soon. Still I’ve something for the kids, don’t take this to real gamers, they’ll blow you out.
8. Blue Skies
By now you must have anticipated the game by its name. Simply blue sky is all about flying. Well this one really shows the graphical potential of your iPhone. It almost a child’s play with the the accelerometer.
I was on a mission, flying around with a helicopter and shooting enemy tanks and planes. Sometimes I was also clearing the landmines. There are 30 levels to get through. I just got rid of the fifth and looking forward to the rest.
9. Line Rider iRide
iRide is not on of those tough nuts. More easy as I could create my own levels. Draw a ski slpe. Now slide down a little character on a sledge. That’s not all. With $2.99 you can get it on your iPhone and play
10. Sudoku for iPhone
If you are good with numbers you already know the game. Its one of the favorite logic based puzzles in entire world. Why not my iPhone carries it. The price for this is $5.99

A good list of games. But not a unique list of games. Here’s a list of games I think are actually unique: Newtonica, Orbital, Amateur Surgeon, Lunar Ball, MiniGore, Rolando…etc. |
