Someone as a picture editor always wants his picture to look very original. One of the most elegant and wonderful way is to apply rounded corners to the picture you are editing. To do so, I will present to you two ways to do that through GIMP. GIMP needs no introduction in the world of graphical editors. So lets go straight to the point.
1. Make Use of Rounded Rectangle
- Open any picture by GIMP.
- Go to menu; Select > Rounded Rectangle
- A box will pop up asking to specify the radius in percentage. I guess 30 will be enough.
- Next right click on the image and go to Select in the menu and then click on Invert
- Hit the delete button
- You have your rounded cornered picture. enjoy.

2. Using Scrpt-Fu option
Well may be this is what you are looking for.
- Go to Script- Fu at the menu bar.
- Go to decor > Rounded corners
- A box will pop up asking for edge radius. But there is an added option of drop shadow and X &Y offset. You also have a blur radius. The default values for radii are 15 and off-sets to be 8. You can change them to your convenience.
- And you are done again.
