Are you a budding web admin or a blogger? The all important Google God is of prime importance and consideration if you wish to earn from your blog ads. They are almost the sole source of income for you when you are starting. So better not to offend them. And anyway, many complain that Google blocked their adsense accounts because they just felt like doing it. So I know, how worrying it is at times. There can be a major issue of accidental invalid clicks. You may have just clicked on ads in your blog unknowingly. Will Google ban you for self promotion and self clicks? You must know for sure what are the rules.
Here is a very nice and specific query at techpinas.com which I will like to address in this case.
Question: I accidentally clicked on a Google ad on my own website. I’m worried it might cost me my Adsense account! My account has just been reinstated and I don’t want to ever lose it again. What are Google’s guidelines on accidental invalid clicks? Help me, please. Thanks!
Answer: Google’s Definition of Invalid Clicks
any clicks or impressions that may artificially inflate an advertiser’s costs or a publisher’s earnings, and for which we decide not to charge the advertiser. This includes, but is not limited to, clicks or impressions generated by a publisher clicking on his own ads, a publisher encouraging clicks on his ads, automated clicking tools or traffic sources, robots, or other deceptive software.
Question: Is one invalid click by the publisher enough reason for Google to block his Adsense account?
Answer: Google says,
Although publishers are not permitted to click on their own ads for any reason, we do understand that accidental clicks may occur. We therefore don’t require that you contact us every time you click on your ads. Rest assured that your account is being properly credited for all clicks and impressions we consider to be valid.
So there you go. Stop worrying if you just had an accident once. If it has happened too many and too frequently then consider Google’s documents and suggestions.
