Yahoo’s chief accounting officer resigns
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Yahoo Inc. on Wednesday disclosed that its chief accounting officer will leave the company on Sept. 30.
Michael A. Murray, who also holds the title of senior vice president of finance, is leaving to pursue other opportunities, a Yahoo spokeswoman said. Details on Murray’s possible replacement weren’t provided.
His departure is the latest in a series of management changes since CEO Carol Bartz took over in January.
The Internet search giant just hired a new chief financial officer in June, Timothy Morse, who has a reputation as an avid cost cutter. A few weeks after Bartz joined Yahoo, former CFO Blake Jorgensen resigned.
Bartz has expanded the responsibilities of Yahoo’s chief technology officer, Ari Balogh, and the company’s top U.S. advertising executive, Hilary Schneider. She also created the jobs of chief marketing officer and chief of staff.
Bartz’s goal is to speed up Yahoo’s decision-making and turn around a struggling company.
Shares of Yahoo were up a nickel to close at $14.23 on Wednesday.
