San Francisco (GaeaTimes.com) YouTube service doesn’t go down very often, so this was quite unusual when the YouTube video service was unavailable since approximately 7:05 AM. The service is now up and running but the downtime was almost two hours. The visitors were greeted by an error message that read “Http/1.1 Service Unavailable” or a 500 Internal Server Error Message.

However, the YouTube videos that were embedded on different sites were still accessible and if you had any link to a particular video, the video in that YouTube Link was also accessible. Only the homepage suffered the error.
The news that YouTube was down became one of the most talked about topics in Twitter and it also became a Google Trend topic

Indian Premier League Live Streaming is available directly on YouTube which may be one of the reasons why YouTube was down for this span of time but it may just be a coincidence as well. We do not yet have any official statement from Google/YouTube in this regard. If we get any information, we will post them here.

YouTube is the most popular video sharing website where user can upload and share videos. It is based in San Bruno, California and uses Adobe flash Video Technology to display the videos. It was founded by three ex PayPal employees named Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim. It was founded in February 2005 and in November 2006, YouTube was bought by Google Inc for $1.65 billion. The site is now operated as a subsidiary of Google.
