Allscripts and Eclipsys shareholders approve deal

NEW YORK — Shareholders of Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions Inc. and Eclipsys Corp. have approved Allscripts’ $1.3 billion acquisition of Eclipsys, the companies said Friday.

The health care information technology companies said 99 percent of Allscripts shares voted were in favor of the deal, as were 99 percent of Eclipsys shares voted, which represented 83 percent of all outstanding shares. Allscripts-Misys said in June that it would buy Eclipsys for $1.3 billion in stock. Regulators also need to approve the combination.

Allscripts-Misys is based in Chicago and Eclipsys is based in Atlanta. Allscripts-Misys shares ended Friday down 5 cents at $16.93, while Eclipsys slipped 11 cents to $20.06.
