Report: Health care IT companies in $1.35B deal

NEW YORK — The Wall Street Journal is reporting that health care information technology companies Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions and Eclipsys are combining in a $1.35 billion all-stock deal.

A deal is likely to be announced Wednesday under which Eclipsys shareholders will receive 1.2 Allscripts shares for each Eclipsys share, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The Associated Press left messages seeking comment with representatives of Eclipsys, which is based in Atlanta, and Allscripts-Misys, which is based in Chicago.

The combined company would reach one out of every three U.S. doctors and one-third of all U.S. hospitals with 200 or more beds, the Journal reported.
