Chapple will depart Yahoo’s board

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Yahoo Inc. said Tuesday that John Chapple, a board member since August 2008, has decided not to stand for re-election at this year’s shareholder’s meeting.

Chapple, president of Hawkeye Investments, will devote more time to other business interests, the Internet portal said.

Yahoo shares rose 11 cents to $16.14 in after-hours trading Tuesday after closing down 31 cents, or 1.9 percent, at $16.03.
