NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Friday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

CIT Group Inc., down 32 cents at $2.46
Shares tumbled after multiple analysts cut their ratings on the diversified lender a day after it reported a wider-than-expected first-quarter loss.
Mohawk Industries Inc., up $11.18 at $49
The floor covering maker’s stock soared after it reported strong first-quarter results and gave an earnings outlook above analysts’ average forecast.
Pfizer Inc., down 11 cents at $13.17
Shareholders tentatively approved proposals asking the company’s board to give them an advisory vote on executive compensation.
Ford Motor Co., up 51 cents at $5
The nation’s second-largest automaker reported a first-quarter loss of $1.4 billion and said it doesn’t expect to seek any government assistance.
Honeywell International Inc., down 93 cents at $31.45
The diversified manufacturer’s profit dropped 38 percent as battered aircraft and automakers pulled back spending on turbo chargers and jet electronics.
American Express Co., up $4.33 at $25.30
AmEx’s drop in earnings marked a sixth-straight quarter of profit declines at the credit card lender, but it still beat expectations.

Microsoft Corp., up $1.99 at $20.91
For the first time in the software maker’s 23-year history as a public company, revenue fell year-over-year as PC shipments tumbled.
PMC-Sierra Inc., up $1.33 at $8.32
Shares jumped after an analyst raised his earnings estimates on the chipmaker on its narrower first-quarter loss.
