Disable and Uninstall Windows Defender in Vista

Windows defender is integrated with Windows operating system and comes free of charge( or included in the cost). Now if you already using a powerful spyware you would not need the Windows defender. Again, it might slow down your system. If the Windows Defender is serving none of your purposes, why not get rid of it. Well, you might have no clue, how to uninstall or remove the Windows Defender in Windows Vista. Here’s the trick and hack to disable Windows Defender.
Windows Defender offers a graphical user interface (GUI) to stop using Windows Defender for real-time protection checking and disabling and Turn off the Windows Defender service.
Most of the guides have asked to disable Windows Defender using the Services in Control Panel and uncheck the startup item in System Configuration (MSConfig) . It needs to be turn off Wndows Defender and prevent it from starting up. This is a not a recommended way to uninstall the Windows Defender.
Here’s the right trick to get rid of
Step 1
Run Windows Defender from Start Menu
Step 2
Click on tool button
Step 3
Now click on the options link under Tools and Settings section
Step 4
Scroll down the Options page
Step 5
Uncheck the check boxes of the two settings
i) Use real-time protection (recommended) under Real-time protection options
ii) Use Windows Defender under Administrator options
Step 6
Hit on the Save option
Step 7
The Windows Defender is turned off dialog message will appear confirming that Windows Defender no longer runs. After the Windows Defender is disabled, if you try to run the program it will bring up Windows Defender is turned off dialog window and unable to proceed to Windows Defender main window anymore
Windows Security Center would display a red alert icon in the notification area that warns about the functioning of spyware and other malware protection software.
Now that you are done you can install a powerful anti-spyware software to remove this alert.
In case you need the Windows Defender in Vista again you can go to the Start Menu and turn it on.

sorry there is no uninstall process shown could you describe that part of the process. That is what everyone that wants it gone wants to know. How do you remove it not disable it. I want it gone completely |

You didn’t uninstall it, you only disabled it. The only way I know to truly uninstall it: 2 Download any bootable linux distro iso and burn it to disc 3 Do all the things posted in this listing 4 Make sure your new linux CD/DVD is in the drive still, and shut down windows, then restart booting off the linux disc. 5 In the files manager of your linux distro, delete all the files in your shared list . 6 Remove the disc, restart into windows again, and run a quality registry cleaner you trust, or do it by hand, and get rid of all the garbage left behind from defender. Restart and enjoy! |
