Now that you are done you can install a powerful anti-spyware software to remove this alert.

In case you need the Windows Defender in Vista again you can go to the Start Menu and turn it on.

You didn’t uninstall it, you only disabled it. The only way I know to truly uninstall it:
1 use an uninstaller that has paired-file scans to find the files that match windowsdefender.msi. (I use Revo, there are others). Then write down the files and locations in a list, or print out the list if your program lets you.

2 Download any bootable linux distro iso and burn it to disc

3 Do all the things posted in this listing

4 Make sure your new linux CD/DVD is in the drive still, and shut down windows, then restart booting off the linux disc.

5 In the files manager of your linux distro, delete all the files in your shared list .

6 Remove the disc, restart into windows again, and run a quality registry cleaner you trust, or do it by hand, and get rid of all the garbage left behind from defender.

Restart and enjoy!
