Hewlett-Packard Goes Racist: A Rumor
By Partho, Gaea News NetworkWednesday, December 23, 2009
Does Hewlett-Packard practice apartheid? Wack! the consumer electronics major could have no big excuse to manufacture motion-tracking webcams that doesn’t see black people. But, why would a tech giant risk a discrepancy for no dime. The YouTube video has the gag show. The video created much fuss this weekend with over 400,000 YouTube page views and loads of tweets. With the video, HP computers are racist slogans are circulating in the web.
For those HP buffs who won’t believe in my words can go down to this
Did you have a look at the video two co-workers takes turns in front of the Camera. Thew video with Wanda Zamen and Desi Cryer swaying in front of the webcam.
According to reports on CNN the company is looking into it. In a email to CNN they said that the camera might have issues with contrast recognition in certain lighting situations. This is in contrast to what the HP webcam claims to be built for. It is supposed to keep people’s faces and bodies in proportion and centered on the screen as they move.
Why would a company like HP go racist? Hewlett Packard Washington DC Area Black Employee Network (B.E.N.) supports, train and develop the HP minority population through seminars, awareness programs, mentoring and group activities. All we could expect, HP might have meat to cover up its act via CSR ( Corporate social responsibility) …lol.
