How to Add New Fonts in Windows 7
By Partho, Gaea News NetworkMonday, January 19, 2009
The Add Font dialog has been a faithful ally to Windows users for years. I remember dragging the Real Wild West fonts to Fonts folder via Control panel, never tough. For lazy leg like me, the easier the better. Windows 7 haven’t compromised the inheritance except that you got something easier to crack the nut. I Buck up!
Windows 7 has made Font installation even easier. It’s especially for those inclined to typography.
- It features an Install button to the font viewer applet that allows you to add new fonts with a click.
- Additionally, you can group the multiple weights together.
- If you need to hide fonts on the basis of regional settings, Windows 7 incorporates a new text rendering engine built into the DirectWrite API.
- It supports the Font common file dialog for more than for standard weights.

To download fonts in Windows 7, first download font from any website (unzip, if required), then right click on it and select install. It is that simple. |

Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too - taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done. |

But how do I add tens of fonts at once? I don’t want to preview each one of them and click Install Font. |

The editor of this site really needs to fire this author. This has got to be the most poorly written “article” that I have read in 25 years. There are too many people out of work right now that could do an infinetely superior job writing articles than this lazy person. “Buck Up”? You should take your own advice. |

I agree Jim, what a crappy article, does not tell you anything about how to get to the font screen, what to click etc etc! Crap! |
