GSA awards IBM 8-year contract worth $74.4 million
ARMONK, N.Y. — IBM will modernize computer systems used by federal agencies for equipment and supplies under a contract worth $74.4 million, the company said Thursday.
Servicing the contract, issued by the U.S. General Services Administration, will take place over eight years.
IBM will integrate nine applications into one system to simplify the way the government orders new supplies.
The tech company is partnering on the project with Northrop Grumman, Vertex Information and Computer Consulting Services Inc. and Collins Consulting Inc.
The GSA buys goods, services and other assets for the federal government.
Shares of IBM Corp. rose $1.59, or 1.3 percent, to $127.92.
