REDMOND (GaeaTimes.com)- After a long wait, Microsoft, the Redmond based software giant has released the preview version of its upcoming web browser IE9. It has been facing tough competition from rivals like Opera, Chrome, Firefox and even Apple’s Safari. Firefox has been successful in wooing a major part of IE users in the last few years. Microsoft tried to retain its position by releasing IE7 and IE 8 but it has only been marginally successful. The rivals became popular with the computer user owing to their superior features and speed. The IE9 preview is not even a beta version but after downloading it the users can get a glimpse of what they can see in the final version.

According to Microsoft, the final version of IE9 will offer the users much better speed and better rendering of web graphics. The Microsoft software developers claim that they redesigned IE9 from the scratch to give the users a new browsing experience. The company has released the Preview so that interested applications developers can download it and develop several add on applications or plug ins for it.

The IE9 is said to feature a spanking new JavaScript engine named Chakra. The browser is designed in such a way that it can take the advantage of the multiple cores of the present generation CPUs. It will result in videos and images loading faster and the computer will be more responsive while the user performs other tasks, as the company has claimed. Microsoft is also saying that IE9 will be the first web browser to offer hardware-accelerated SVG support. However, the final verdict can be given when the commercial version is released and downloaded.
