Summary Box: Facebook profiles to pages

NEW PROFILES: Facebook wants to emphasize the pages for bands and brands that millions have become fans of.

THE CHANGES: No longer will links to those pages appear in a separate section lower down. They will be part of users’ lists of activities and other interests.

WHAT ABOUT SLEEPING?: Facebook is creating special “community pages” for such interests as sleeping and cooking, whereas the regular pages are more for organizations, businesses and actual products.
