Symantec to buy Gideon, security software maker
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Symantec Corp. said Tuesday it has agreed to acquire Gideon Technologies Inc., a privately held maker of risk management software.
Symantec, a security software provider, said the deal will expand its slate of products that help customers assess threats to their computer systems. In particular, the company said Gideon’s technology is suited to helping government agencies meet security requirements.
The company did not disclose financial terms. It expects to close the acquisition by the end of March.
