Tech Data closes Triade acquisition
CLEARWATER, Fla. — Information technology products distributor Tech Data Corp. said Friday it has closed its acquisition of Netherlands-based Triade Holding BV.
Tech Data agreed to buy Triade in August to accelerate its entry into Europe’s consumer electronics market. Including debt, Tech Data valued the deal at $189 million.
In addition, Brightstar Europe, a joint venture between Brightstar Corp. and Tech Data, closed its acquisition of Triade subsidiaries Mobile Communication Company BV and MCC Belgium NV, paying $54 million.
Shares of Tech Data slid 25 cents to $40.05 in afternoon trading.
