NEW YORK — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:

Walgreen Co., down 3 cents at $36.61
The company administered 5.4 million seasonal flu shots in the fall, boosting quarterly profit by 20 percent.
Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc., up $1.51 at $25.18
An analyst raised the sporting goods retailer
Alcoa Inc., up $1.15 at $15.73
The aluminum producer announced an $10.8 billion joint venture with Saudi Arabia after an analyst raised his rating on the company.
Las Vegas Sands Corp., up 23 cents at $15.52
The opening of the company’s $5.5 billion Singapore casino and resort, initially scheduled for this month, has been delayed again.
CVS Caremark Corp., up $1.12 at $32.30
The company hired the president of genetic benefits manager Generation Health to lead its struggling Caremark business.
NASDAQ:
Chattem Inc., up $23.16 at $93.14
French drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis SA plans to buy the U.S. health-care company for $1.9 billion in cash.
Bucyrus International Inc., up $5 at $55.84
The mining equipment maker said it will buy a division of Terex Corp. for $1.3 billion in cash, broadening its geographic reach.
Palm Inc., up 52 cents at $10.69
An analyst upgraded the smart phone maker to “Hold” from “Sell” following a recent drop in stock price.
