YRC Worldwide, Spectranetics, Palm are movers

NEW YORK — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq Stock Market:

NYSE:

Marshall & Ilsley, up 5 cents at $5.50

The regional bank is cutting out cash bonuses for its executives in 2009 to comply with standards under the federal bailout program.

Morgan Stanley, up 14 cents at $29.43

Morgan Stanley is reportedly considering how it compensates its top executives, looking to defer benchmark salaries against rivals.

NASDAQ:

YRC Worldwide Inc., up 8 cents at $1.03

YRC extended the deadline for its debt exchange, but an analyst said the move might merely be delaying an inevitable bankruptcy filing.

RC2 Corp., down 2 cents at $14.78

The company agreed to pay a $1.25 million settlement for selling Thomas & Friends children’s toys with lead levels above legal limits.

Apple Inc., down $2.51 at $209.10

Nokia Corp. is broadening a legal dispute with Apple over the iPhone, saying almost all of the company’s products violate its patents.

Spectranetics Corp., up 92 cents at $6.96

The medical device maker will pay $5 million to end a government investigation into the use and marketing of one of its products.

Palm Inc., down 38 cents at $10.16

A Deutsche Bank analyst said investors are overreacting to reports that the company cut its orders to suppliers for its smart phones.
