How to enable Multitouch in Google Nexus

Lastly the Google Nexus One smartphone has the multi touch functionality - no regrets for Google freaks iPhone had the feature since 2007. Cyanogen developers modified Google Android 2.1 mobile operating system to add multi touch to the much-hyped iPhone killer. Devices with multi touch allow users to navigate the phones with more than one finger. With iPhone and all top-notch smartphones like Motorola Droid providing the feature, Google’s had to seriously consider adding it to their Android phone. XDA-Developers introduced a Nexus One add-on that enables complete multi touch functionality from pinch to zoom.
Well, all Android smartphone users want their Android devices to be iPhone in its own unique way. Given that the hardware and Android 2.1 OSÂ already supported multi-touch, Google took its time to deliver the feature. Now you must be eager to know how to enable multi touch in Google Nexus
Before you start with the process of enabling multi touch in Google phone, you might lose your settings and bookmarks for this new inclusion. The process would require you to flash the ROM. That’s not a big ask for the multi-touch feature.
Follow the instructions below to install the multi touch add-on for Nexus One to
Step 1: Before installing the multi touch add on you need to root the Google Nexus One phone. Go though the given instruction
i) Download the Superboot.zip file here and extract it to a directory
ii) Get the phone in bootloader mode turn it off, remove the battery, plug in USB cable, when battery icon appears onscreen, replace battery then tap the powerbutton while holding the Camera key
iii) Now choose the options according to the OS
Windows: double click install-superboot-windows.bat
Mac OS X: Open the terminal window to the directory containing the files and type chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh followed by /install-superboot-mac.sh
Linux: Open the terminal Window to the directory that contains the files and type the following command
chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh and then the following ./install-superboot-linux.sh
Step 2: Download the required files for Nexus One multi touch add-on here
Step 3: To add the files run the following commands
adb shell stop
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/app/Browser.odex
adb push Browser.apk /system/app
adb push com.cyanogenmod.android.jar /system/framework
adb push com.cyanogenmod.android.xml /system/etc/permissions
adb shell reboot
Step 4: Reboot your phone and run the browser to experience the multi touch functionality

Nice to be informed here. Bloggers have speculated that Google and other folks working on Android phones have been hesitant to implement the pinch-to-zoom multitouch feature in their devices because Apple supposedly holds a patent on it. Thanks. |

As per my information, It is almost confirmed that Google will sell directly to consumers Nexus One without a contract with a service provider. It is reported by BGR at Nexus One will be sold directly through the Internet. |
