Palin takes on ‘language police’

JUNEAU, Alaska — Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has some harsh words for what she calls the “politically correct language police.”

The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate made a Facebook post in which she compared the NCAA tournament to a “heated, competitive primary election.” Then she went on to use some of the same rhetoric she has employed recently to describe her dislike of the Democrat-backed health overhaul.

She writes about “strong weapons” and “big guns” to drive to the basket. She urges teams to “shoot with accuracy; aim high and remember it takes blood, sweat and tears to win.” She says people should “never retreat, instead RELOAD!”

Democrats have criticized Palin for using such language at a time when lawmakers have reported receiving threats of violence for supporting the health bill. Palin has dismissed the controversy as “ginned up.”
