NEW DELHI - Union Home Secretary G K Pillai today said the Indian software companies are on the hit list of terrorists.

Speaking at a conference here that placed emphasis on the challenge of terrorism to the infrastructure and economy of the country, Pillai said adequate protection would be provided to the software companies keeping in mind the terror threats.

The Central Government is tying up with the private companies to provide maximum cover in order to avoid any future troubles, he said.

“We are the world leaders in software. The software industry is high on the threat list. I think all the software companies in India are now realizing this they are taking their own measures in which to try and see how best they can provide the maximum security and the government is in partnership with these software companies in an effort to provide the adequate security,” he added.

Despite the economic slowdown, the Indian economy was able to carry on with its growth.

But with the continuous terror threats and the absence of a cohesive national security policy, the economic growth still remains under menace. (ANI)
