Summary Box: Youth cautious about image online

YOUNG WISDOM: A new study from the Pew Internet & American Life Project adds to the evidence that young people might be more cautious than their elders when it comes to managing their reputation and privacy on social networking sites.

TAKING ACTION: Among other things, people ages 18 to 29 were the most likely to change the privacy settings on their profiles to limit what they share with others online.

GENERATION GAP: Young adults were also more likely to say they don’t trust social networking sites.
