Apple Launches new Leopard and Snow Leopard betas

One month ago, Apple opened Mac OS X 10.5.8 beta test for developers. If you are one of those keeping a track of Snow Leopard’s development, you would be excited to know that this weekend Apple released its latest Snow Leopard beta with new pre-releases of both Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Server. The signs of the development were evident with new builds arriving with distinguished area of focus from the former build. These accompanied lower-level technologies and frameworks hogging greater attention than they usually do. This was followed by speculations that the Mac maker would give the Leopard OS a final look once again.
The most recent build contains no known issues. For more the two new bugs - saving mail messages as individual message documents and another to URL localization- have been addressed.
Mac OS X 10.6 Server build 10A403
This weekend the developers were offered the new build of Mac OS X 10.6 Server which was labled as 10A403. Further, the developers were requested to spend time with system’s new Podcast Producer, involved in evaluating most of the third-party video and web cams. The new software would include a Web Podcast Capture that leverages a new Dual Source Video Capture feature designed to allow the users to create podcasts in picture-in-picture format.
Mac OS X 10.6 build 10A402a
Earlier this week, Mac OS X 10.6 Server build 10A403 arrived on the heels of Mac OS X 10.6 Client build 10A402a. The build comes with a number of interface tweaks to the Dock’s pop-up menus and Expose.
