SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- Barnes & Noble is in a mood to expand and promote its e-reader, Nook to the people of United States. An electronic-book reader, that was launched in United States in November last year for US $259 has been attracting attention for some time now. The company, however, now plans to go for aggressive promotion of its Nook e-readers in all of its stores. As per reports, Barnes & Noble is planning to build a boutique area of around 1,000-square-foot in each of its stores. These boutique areas will have sample Nooks, video screens, demonstration table. There would be employees on floor to provide customers with advice and operating instructions.
These are not the only things that Barnes & Noble are planning for the Nook boutique. In an attempt to compete with Amazon and Apple e-readers, Barnes & Noble plans to come up this September with an Apple type boutique which will have Nooks that can be tried out by the customers. There would also be an adjoining wall and a large flat-panel display that will have a video demonstration on e-readers. Apart from these, the boutique will consist of more than 100 accessories including designer Nook covers designed by famous fashion designers Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade.
In a competitive market of e-reader, which has big names like Amazon and Apple in it, Barnes & Noble is trying to come up with some innovations in its product and promotion to attract the customers. Barnes & Noble’s e-reader has an advantage over Amazon’s kindle, as the former has a physical store where people can go to try out the product, while the latter exists purely online.
