NEW YORK - Bristol Palin has apologized for her sister Willow’s behaviour, amid reports that the Palins had used homophobic and foul slurs on Facebook this week to bash their mother’s critics.

The controversy began when TMZ reported that Willow had lashed out at a classmate on Facebook using the word ‘f*ggot’, reports the New York Daily News.

Willow, 16, was reportedly responding to a student named Tre, who mocked her mother’s new show by writing ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska is failing so hard right now’.

She fired back, calling Tre ’so gay’ and a ‘f*ggot’.

Bristol also responded to Tre’s post, writing, “You’re running your mouth just to talk sh*t,”

The comments sparked outrage, even causing one Facebook group to pop up called ‘Willow Palin’s Homophobic and a Trashy B**ch’.

Amid furore over Willow’s comments, Bristol posted an apology on her Facebook wall.

“Willow and I shouldn’t have reacted to negative comments about our family. We apologize,” she wrote.

“On a nicer note, thank you for supporting the great competition in ‘Dancing with the Stars’!” she added.

Meanwhile. Willow who offered no such apology, is reported to have deleted her Facebook account. (ANI)
