WASHINGTON - Former American President George W. Bush has joined Facebook, going live with an official page.
Bush’s spokesman David Sherzer said that it was an appropriate way of keeping in touch with fans.
“Our office hears from citizens all the time: ‘How’s President Bush? What’s he up to? Please tell him thank you for his service’,” Fox News quoted Sherzer as saying.
“President Bush is grateful for all of these kind messages. A Facebook fan page is the ideal forum on which to keep people up to date on what the former president is doing,” he stated.
There are two pictures uploaded on Bush’s page so far, one of him alone and the other with former first lady Laura Bush in Crawford, Texas with their dogs, Barney and Miss Beazley.
So far he has 27,106 followers, and Sherzer revealed that the 43rd president has “no plans to ‘twitter’ at this point”, though the George W. Bush Center maintains a Twitter page. (ANI)
