scosche_01_1236883005After Apple’s newest surprise of coming out with the ’smallest mp3 player the world has seen’, i.e. the new iPod shuffle, now its time for apple accessories to live up to theirs. The newest Apple product requires a special pair of headphones, since it doesn’t actually have controls built in. For the time being, users are obligated to use the earbuds that the player ships with. And I am sure, if you have ever used an iPod, you won’t be running in the neighbors screaming about its comfort. Both V-Moda and Scosche are now building enhanced earphones for your ipod shuffle.

Scosche’s kind-of, sort-of announced models are the IDR350M, IDR450M, and IDR650M. The IDM part stands for increased dynamic range. The headphones will feature a built-in mic and will cost you a hefty $49.99 to $99.99. We see a special case here. Can an accessory be more expensive than products? Well this time it has. Shuffle costs you around $79.99.

V-Moda, meanwhile, is working on a pair of headphones set for a Q2 release. The Audio Volume Control (AVC) headphones are set to work with the Shuffle’s new VoiceOver feature.

I wouldn’t recommend buying an iPod shuffle as yet. I don’t want to pay a heavy price for the smallest mp3 in my pocket. I can manage a little weight. What about you?
