If you do not have time to read the above documents here is a one minute guide.

Choose Verdana, Sans-Serif for normal text. Choose Georgia, Serif for big headlines (h1, h2 tags). This should give you a presentable document which looks professional and goes easy on the eye.
If you want to fine tune it, go ahead and read the documents above.

That are good guides for plain text writting on webpages, but let me share some font resource sites if you need to plasm text over an image, when antialiasing is needed.
