WASHINGTON - Former Alaska GOP Governer Sarah Palin’s backing of Carly Fiorina in California’s senate race on her Facebook page has lead to a severe backlash from her supporters.

The outcry comes from Palin fans who also support Chuck DeVore, Fiorina’s campaign opponent in the Republican primary.

Palin’s Facebook page is indundated with comments deriding her for her misplaced support, “I don’t agree with this endorsement AT ALL! What are you thinking Sarah?” writes an infuriated DeVore loyalist.

In her original post Palin did not mention Fiorina’s social views but alluded to former Hewlett Packard CEO Fiorina’s opposition of abortion rights reports politico.com.

“Carly has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List,” Palin wrote of Fiorina. “She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty.”

The heated uprising from her devoted fans prompted Palin to update her post to “add a few things about my Carly endorsement because some reaction right out of the chute calls for more information.”

“Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment,” she added. “Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners. She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence. She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. That’s no RINO. That’s a winner,” concluded alin. (ANI)
