RI treasurer to auction unclaimed property
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island soon starts auctioning off unclaimed property including jewelry and bone carvings on the Internet auction site eBay Inc.
General Treasurer Frank Caprio’s office said the auction begins Tuesday and ends Jan. 11.
The items including jewelry, rare coins and two golden chalices that were taken from safety deposit boxes whose owners could not be located. Proceeds from the sale benefit the state.
