Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis, who sold Skype to eBay four years ago for $2.6 billion, wants to buy them back. Yeah, weird may it sound but that is what is buzzing around in the technology world right now. Skype, with each passing phase has evolved appreciatively. Millions of people have loved it and there is no reason why it can not stand alone and survive. On the other hand, I feel its a pity not to have been thought like that yet. New eBay CEO John Donahue has seemed to imply that he is willing to sell the calling service, referring to it as a “great stand-alone business.”
Google has also appreciated the way Skype has benefited audiences all over the world and holds the potential to change the conventional telecom market if internet spreads up. Not only it will make ISD calls abnormally cheaper, but also attract many more people into it the reason being the obvious. Hope Skype goes to back to where it belonged first.
