Summary Box: Tech spending on the mend
THE FORECAST: U.S. spending in technology products and services will grow by 8.4 percent in 2010, according to Forrester Research. The January forecast was for a 6.6 percent growth.
WHERE IS THE GROWTH: Spending on communications equipment is higher than Forrester previously expected, but the computer equipment and software sectors will see the highest rates of growth.
WORLDWIDE: The tech market will grow by 7.7 percent to $1.6 trillion. That is down from an earlier forecast of 8.1 percent growth after the Greek financial crisis hurt the euro.
