The most valuable care for a laptop is caring for the connections on the laptop itself. Insure that no connections to the laptop are bent (power adapters, usb cables, headphones). This is a very common repair request and can easily be avoided if known in advance! |

The number one thing we can suggest is securing the power cable adapter. If the power cable plug (the part that goes directly into the laptop) is ever bent up against the laptop by another object (knee, bedsheets, etc…), this could cause significant damage to the main motherboard. Same goes for anything else (headphones, usb cables). Just make sure no other object interferes with how things are plugged in and your laptop will live a long healthy life! |

I tell all my customers that they really have to handle their laptop like a newborn baby. Many seem to think that they can just treat it any old way, and it will stand up, because it was designed to be portable. That expensive toy can quickly become a useless pile of electronics if it is not protected, and maintained. Just like the car you drive, that laptop needs regular maintenance. Weekly virus scans, periodic defragmentation and error checking will help prolong the life of your computer. |

Hey quite an informative article. I really like the specifications. I bought an Acer Timeline 4810T a month ago and its really doing well. The good thing about Acer is that they give us the choice of selecting features, which we require and not thrown at us and that too, at affordable price. I think, where Acer scores over other laptops is more value for money. |
