Which Overseas Travel Insurance To Use

Note: This is for Indians who have to travel abroad on short business trips.

Which overseas travel insurance company do you use for short trip?

I used New India Assurance before, but I find their policy of payment after the expenses have been paid very inconvenient especially if you are for short periods and do not have the time nor energy to pursue your claim afterwards. Also they are not very useful when you are looking for insurance for elderly with pre-existing conditions.

Ideally I would like an insurance provider who is recognized in USA or has some ties with US insurance providers so we can use their cards in hospitals or medical institutions. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit higher price for this privilege. Also a provider which has reasonable plans for elderly with pre-existing conditions.

What is your recommendation and why?
