The worldwide PC spending is supposed to reach $245 billion in 2010 which is more than 12.2 per cent compared to 2009. The research company predicted about 13.1% increase growth in PC shipments in 2010 which is lower than the latest forecast. The market will witness growth during the next few years because home PC demand will increase and professional replacement will go up during recovery time.

Additionally, Gartner says that although, mini notebook sale will rise during the current year, ultimately, the sale will drop gradually because of the emerging market of ultraportable and tabloid computers. The sale of Desktop is going to be limited in this emerging market. The research company also says that the sale of mobile PC will contribute 90% of PC sales in the next three years. The recent launch of iPad from Apple has created much fuss about the market in terms of opportunity for traditional PCs and Tablet PC. Gartner projected that vendors may ship 10.5 million tablet PCs across the globe during the year 2010.

“Vendors can no longer afford to just think in terms of traditional PC form factors or architectures. With the rise of Web-delivered applications, many users no longer need a traditional PC running a resident general-purpose operating system and fast x86 CPU to satisfy their computing needs.
