Yahoo Photos is Closing.. So What?

You too may have received a sad notice from Yahoo Photos:
Dear Angsuman,
Thank you so much for using Yahoo! Photos. Before we go, we can help you move your photos to Flickr, Yahoo!’s other photo sharing service.
You must decide what to do by October 18, 2007, because any photos still here after that date will be deleted.
Yahoo Photos is closing in favor of Flickr, the original photo sharing service. The irony of this announcement is that most people, including myself, have never heard of Yahoo Photos before today. It painfully explains why Yahoo Photos is closing in the first place and why Flickr acquisition was so crucial for Yahoo.

hi angsuman, I’ve been using yahoo photos since my daughter was born. thanks for the reminder that I need to move ‘em to flickr. I guess Yahoo need to eliminate duplicate efforts. Wonder when google will close their Google Videos (in favor of youtube) ? BR, |
