Grooveshark Chooses Juniper Networks

FLORIDA (GaeaTimes.com)- Grooveshark which is among the most widely used music sharing and streaming services has signed a deal with Juniper Networks. As per the deal, the latter will provide it the means to set up its sophisticated cloud-based infrastructure. The advanced EX8208 Ethernet Switches made by Juniper Networks has been chosen by Grooveshark for this purpose. The company wants to shorten the distance between music distributors, promoters and the end users. Grooveshark was in the lookout for a potent cloud solution that can offer a powerful, reliable, and secured network setup for its services. The setup is a prerequisite for delivering quality on-demand music services to the millions of users of Grooveshark.

Juniper Networks has developed EX8208 Ethernet Switches and the technology used in these devices will help Grooveshark in establishing a robust as well as scalable platform with which it can meet the existing requirement and also meet the increased needs of the users in near future. As one can understand, the bandwidth requirement of the web users is increasing with time. Andy Ingram, the Juniper Networks VP thinks the technology will help Grooveshark in attaining its objective.

Grooveshark recommends music to its users along with streaming online music. The users are also allowed to upload their music collection. Florida based Escape Media Group owns Grooveshark and it started operating from the year 2006. Its founding members were three students of Florida University.
