By Angsuman Chakraborty, Gaea News NetworkMonday, December 1, 2008
Suppose you have written an article and you want to count the words. It is not possible to count them each manually and surprisingly, unlike wordpress, you don’t get a feature to see the number of words inside A Microsoft Word document. So what will you do? Take this tip with you.
How to Count the Words
1. Type up your article or document into the Microsoft Word Program on your computer.or copy it from anywhere you like and paste it to word.
2. Go to the tools menu on the toolbar. Click on word count.
3. It will bring up the statistics for your document and tell you how many words are in it. If you only want to know how many words are in a paragraph, simply highlight the paragraph and go to word count to find out.
It is pretty useful when the volume of the write up is concerned or may be you need to prepare an essay for your college/ school project under limited words.

There is a great tool that will count words, phrases and sentences in Word documents, RTF files, pasted text or web sites. It is called myWordCount and also graphs sentence length. |
